Maurice & Clancy is a concept for an animated series surrounding a cautious and particular defence attorney and a chaotic and impulsive detective being forced into an unlikely team.

Create a pitch bible for a show focused on relationships and personal development.

Clancy is a detective, a free spirit, and an impulsive woman with Type 1 Diabetes.
I wanted her design to portray these qualities, so tried a few different approaches before landing on the second concept. The motorcycle jacket made sense for me- of course she'd ride a bike- and it felt more practical for her medical equipment to be concealed beneath this jacket where it can't snag on anything whil

I intended from the start to make Maurice and Clancy's character designs highly contrasting, which means I also accepted the challenge to ensure the designs are still coherent in the show's style (inspired by cartoons from the 2000s such as Kim Possible and Total Drama island).
I made Clancy's design bottom-heavy with the intention of making Maurice's top heavy, and chose her colours with the inte

I wanted to make Maurice's design more top-heavy to contrast Clancy's shape language, making him feel more tense and uptight while Clancy seems more easy and impulsive.
Maurice's colour scheme is relatively cool, focused on blues rather than black and red like Clancy's. His tie is a burgundy colour as I wanted a fun symbol of Maurice having a level of hotheadedness like Clancy but keeps it restrain

The primary focus of the show is the dynamic between Maurice and Clancy, and how it evolves throughout the story. This sketch is depicting how Clancy views the dynamic at the end of the pilot/first episode, where she drags Maurice into being her assistant. She's petty, so even though their rivalry was from years ago in high school, she takes great joy in having Maurice do things he would normally

Kaleb is the secondary antagonist, the second in command to the real protagonist who pulls the strings from behind the scenes. He tries extremely hard to make his boss and idol happy, and pushes himself to be as tough as him. Unfortunately, he rarely succeeds.
Kaleb is comedic in his failures, but a sympathetic villain to many.

I wanted to prove that this show could not only be a good concept but a franchise, with a variety of opportunities for merchandise.
This piece is a poster design I worked on, focusing on making something soft and aesthetically pleasing, for those who want their merch to be pretty and gentle in its visuals.

While working on merchandise design, I wanted to make something fun and silly for each protagonist. After designing the logo, I knew I wanted to incorporate the symbols into some merchandise of the respective characters- so, I went with small charms in a long chain: the character's symbol, their cat, and finally their face. I also decided to fully render the keychains myself, as a creative challen
